Powerful presentations will enable you to create new business opportunities and build on existing ones.

Aimed at owners and directors of small and medium sized businesses in Berkshire, this session has been designed for a small group of people to come together to exchange and explore ideas, pick up new tips and techniques and experience delivering presentations in a safe and supportive environment.

Why attend this Presentation Skills workshop?

Great communication lies at the heart of all successful business relationships, but it doesn’t happen overnight. It takes time out of your very busy day to create a presentation that will showcase yourself, your company and your products, that will engage your audience and deliver your vision and key messages with clarity and flair.

Sometimes the immediate needs of running a business means presentation preparation slips down your list of priorities – we’ve all been there. But – people buy from people. Delivering a great presentation will help you secure new opportunities and grow your business. Isn’t it worth making sure your presentation is the best it can be – who knows what it will lead to?

What is covered?

This session will cover:

  • the purpose and structure of your presentation
  • how to present with authority and confidence – “it’s not what you say it’s how you say it”
  • the role of the audience
  • the importance of storytelling
  • how to make an impact with your opening and closing remarks
  • how to create and use great visuals effectively
  • the art of the Q&A.
  • The session contains interactive exercises, which will be filmed and played back for you to analyse and discuss.

Please note: You will need to bring with you a prepared three-minute (maximum) presentation about your business which you will deliver to the group. This could be a new presentation or an existing presentation you have already been using to present to potential customers, partners or networking groups.

Who is delivering this workshop?

Alison Rusted is a friendly encouraging coach who believes that authenticity, clarity, enthusiasm and energy is the foundation of great communication. Ali was an Editor at the BBC for many years where she worked with radio and TV presenters across a wide range of sports and news programmes and launched digital stations Radio 4 Extra and 5 Live Sports Extra. Most importantly, she learned that successful communication is all about understanding the audience – what inspires, enthuses and engages them – and how that understanding will enhance your communication skills and deepen your connection with your audience.

After many years at the BBC, Ali and her business partner then ran their own media and production company for 11 years before Ali went solo in 2018. Her experience of working with everyone from CEOs and directors at firms such as Grant Thornton and Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner to small start-up companies and young British Olympic and Paralympic athletes has enabled her to develop a range of coaching skills to help people fully realise their potential to present their vision and key messages to a wider public.
