HR Advice for Business: Recruitment, Selection & Human Resources

This Human Resources clinic provides one-to-one advice and guidance on a wide range of HR matters, from employment contracts, the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme, furloughed employees, people management and restructuring to recruitment, selection and training. Bookable one-hour appointments are available from 9.30am to 1.30pm.

You will receive free one-to-one advice for your business from an HR expert, a free HR health-check on your current contracts of employment and have the chance to get your people-related questions answered.

Whether you need advice on developing your team to improve performance and productivity, need to discuss your recruitment strategy or process to help you attract the best talent, or assistance with restructuring your organisation to support your growth ambitions, we can help you explore the issues that you need to consider.

You can also take advantage of a complimentary HR health check on your current contracts of employment and employee handbook to ensure that you are not only compliant with employee legislation but are implementing HR best practice.

Who is the HR Clinic expert?

Michaela Gartside has provided support to local SME businesses since joining the HR Dept in 2013. With over 25 years’ experience in HR, Michaela enjoys utilising that experience to offer support across a wide range of issues that SME business owners face. Prior to this she worked for Marks and Spencer plc (in both stores and Head Office) before joining SITA, a high tech company providing solutions for Air Transport Industry, where she had a number of Global HR roles. Michaela has experience in employee relations, performance management, restructuring and change management, acquisitions, managing diversity as well as the more specialist aspects of reward including remuneration policy and incentive plan designs. Being customer focussed and a strong team player, Michaela wants to understand your business to ensure that she can provide you with practical, commercial advice that allows you to achieve your goals. By working in partnership with you the HR Dept can “prevent people problems” but if they do happen we will work together to resolve them.
