Martin Hall

Growth Hub Manager & Business Champion

Martin is passionate about supporting SMEs to achieve their goals with specialisms around developing skills and access to finance. As an experienced team and contract manager, he is responsible for managing delivery of the Growth Hub service, which will put businesses in contact with the appropriate support services to enable them to achieve their growth goals.

Aside from running the Hub day to day, Martin also works directly with some high growth businesses across the region. This includes using diagnostic tools such as GROWTHmapper to understand some of the barriers to growth, development of high growth plans and then ongoing account management to support implementation.

Martin is keen to simplify the business support landscape so that SMEs can focus on running their businesses with the benefit of no nonsense practical support that delivers real bottom line benefits.

Phil Ashford

Business Champion

Phil is a highly experienced business adviser who has run his own business and social enterprises. He is passionate about helping businesses succeed and has worked for various government-funded programmes offering business support as well as being a growth consultant in his own right.

As part of the Growth Hub, Phil will be helping high growth companies access the right support to achieve success, and using a variety of tools, such as GROWTHmapper, help you identify where those needs are.

Sara Charlesworth

Business Advisor

Sara provides information and initial diagnosis to businesses contacting the Growth Hub. Having started and subsequently sold a successful small business, Sara went on to advise hundreds of start-up and growing businesses across many different sectors. She has a degree in Business Management with International Marketing and a wealth of experience in sales and marketing, public relations, finance, human resources, and procurement. 

A champion for local enterprise, Sara enjoys providing inspiration and advice and providing signposting to further sources of help and support where appropriate.

Anna Fowler

Marketing & Partnerships Manager

Anna has worked in marketing, communications, and PR in the private, public and voluntary and community sectors. Several of these roles have involved forging successful partnerships, influencing and advising decision makers and engaging with a wide variety of stakeholders to promote positive change.

In her role as Marketing and Partnerships Manager, Anna communicates the key ways in which the Growth Hub provides essential and valuable support to entrepreneurs and businesses in Thames Valley Berkshire.

Bethany Horrell

Project Administrator

Bethany is an experienced administrator who has worked in a variety of industries including Estates Management, Higher Education and Primary Education. She is a meticulous and dedicated administrator problem-solving solving and working with clients and is keen to apply these skills to help deliver economic growth across the region.

As part of the Growth Hub, Bethany acts as the Office Manager responsible for procurement, compliance, managing the CRM and measuring KPIs. She also assists the members of the Growth Hub in client communications and setting up events.
